What is Reiki? The word "Reiki" is used generically in Japan to denote any healing process that involves use of the Life Force and is generally described as energy work. This process, as rediscovered by Mikaomi Usui, is called Reiki, the Usui System of Natural Healing.
In its highest meaning, "Rei" mean Spiritual Consciousness or Divine Wisdom: the All-Knowing God Consciousness, That which understands the person, their problems, the cause and how to heal. "Ki" signifies the Life Force, the universal, vital life force that animates all living things. It is the Divine Consciousness, Rei, which guides the life force, Ki, in its healing work. Thus, Reiki is easily defined as spiritually guided life force energy. More simply stated, the basis of Reiki healing is love. It is the coming together of Spirit and matter. The Reiki process supports all other healing modalities and is complimentary to standard Allopathic and Homeopathic treatment. The Universal Energy transferred may be felt as heat, tingling, pulsation or relaxation as it flows to specific places in the body/mind/spirit complex. During a Reiki session, you may also experience emotional responses. In addition to traditional Reiki healing, Aromatherapy and/or Crystal
Healing can be added to your healing session. Crystal energy healing involves the use of crystals and semi-precious Stones during your Reiki session at key points and/or Chakras as determined during the Reiki healing work. One healing Crystal or Stone will be sent with you when you leave the session. This might include one of the following: tiger's eye, hawk's eye, carnelian, amethyst, rose quartz, hematite, sodalite, moss agate, snowflake obsidian, fluorite, etc. Reiki for Pets Benefits of Reiki to pets and equine are similar to those for people:
healing, relaxation and/or energizing. Sessions with animals are much
shorter than with humans, in part because they process the energy more
efficiently, are more open to the encounter and usually have less emotional
baggage than humans do. A session and its benefits are also based on
the individual animal's personality and natural tolerance levels for
focused or lengthy mental or physical contact. It is possible for an
animal to refuse Reiki, and the practitioner takes careful steps to
determine the client's receptiveness to the experience. Reiki should not be considered as a replacement for traditional Allopathic medicine or psychotherapy, but rather as a complementary process. It is inappropriate for a Reiki practitioner to diagnose and treat illnesses. A Reiki practitioner facilitates the process of providing energy to the receiver. The higher consciousness of the receiver decides how the energy will be used. The Reiki energy will not interfere with standard medical treatment. Rates Reiki - 60 minutes - $40 in my home, $45 in your home Special thanks to my Reiki Master, the Rev. L. Mira Stanley, for allowing me to use materials from her collection for this web site, and to my sister, Catherine, also a Reiki Master, for her patience and gentle guidance as I discovered my path. |
